BATHROOM WALL TILE HEIGHT
How tall should your bathroom wall tile be?
Find out below.
More than just for aesthetics, you should try to tile your bathroom wall at the heights recommended below for water protection and continuity.
Bathroom Wall Tile Height
4 Inches of Base Tile: Instead of using a wood baseboard in your bathroom, try using tile. Commonly used to protect the bottom of your wall from moisture, these tiles typically have a rounded edge called bullnose to improve the looks.
4 Feet of Wainscot: A wainscot was originally wooden panelling used on the lower part of a wall. In modern bathrooms, wainscots are made up of tile and are usually 4 feet (48 inches) tall.
Or a Wainscot That Matches Your Backsplash: If your wainscot wraps around to meet your backsplash, it is common to make it match the height of your backsplash.

8 Feet of Wall Tile: If you want to take your tile up to your ceiling, then 8 feet it is. If you have vaulted ceilings that are 9-12', we usually tile your wall to just above the window.
Shower Wall Tile Height
4-6" Above The Shower Head: When tiling the walls inside your shower, we usually install the tile just is usually 4-6" above the shower head. This protects most of your wall from water while leaving a bit of wall exposed to contrast the tile. This design is a bit more modern and your white walls can help brighten up the bathroom.
Fully Tiled Shower Wall and Ceiling: If you have a steam shower, you will want to tile your walls all the way up to the top. This will help protect them from water-damage and make them more mildew-resistant.
